The superstars of good cardiovascular health

Good cardiovascular health = efficiency of your heart, lungs, & blood vessels. The easier it is to pump blood through your body, the less work your heart has to do. Greens can help with this!

Here at Betr, it’s no secret that we love our greens. A new study from Edith Cown Universty (ECU) in Joondalup, WA, in Australia finds that leafy greens + vegetables all offer significant benefits for your cardiovascular health.

Keep in mind when cooking your greens – this can reduce the nitrate content by about 50%. No worries though, this is still enough nitrate to get in all of the health benefits that are offered for heart health! Work enough greens into your diet, and you are golden.

Greens are great, sure. But what is the magic factor in all of this? Nitrates! Nitrates in these greens are contributing to your heart health. Nitrates by definition are “A set of compounds that involve nitrogen & oxygen molecules”. Hence, allowing more healthy blood to flow through your body + taking potential stress away from your heart!
