Nuts are nature’s gift to us. While they come in different sizes and shapes, the health benefits of nuts are undeniable. Packed with healthy fats, fiber, and protein, everyone should go nuts!

Here is why:

Brain Boost: Fun fact … did you know that trail mix is called “Studentenfutter” in German which literally translates to “student feed” in English? In many other European languages, similar translations are found. While the origin of this name isn’t clear, there is; however; a direct connection between nut consumption and brain health. Walnuts in particular are high in DHA, a type of omega-3 fatty acid which keeps your brain extra healthy and have found to lower blood pressure. This makes walnuts the perfect study snack!

Dairy-free Alternative: Dairy-free milk like soy, almond, cashew, or coconut milk provide delicious and healthy alternatives for those who are either lactose intolerant or chose to lower their dairy intake. Especially nut milk not only provides a rather unique flavor to your coffee (it can also double as coffee creamer!) or your bowl of cereal, but is also low in calories and rich in vitamins!

Guilt-free Snack: We all have cravings and there is nothing wrong with having them. However, not all snacks are created equal. For example, through artificial flavors and artificial sugars, snack manufacturers are tricking your brain into thinking that what you eat is “healthy” because it’s sugar free and/or fat-free. In reality, those snacks are far from “healthy!” Nuts on the other hand are and can be found in a variety of different ways (salty, sweet, spicy) to satisfy any your craving. They will also keep you feeling full longer and provide you with your daily dose of healthy fats!
