Ingredients

  • 1 red onion Sliced.
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • tsp Himalayan pink sea salt

Instructions

  • Take a paper towel and dab it into your Coconut Oil, then rub the bottom of a saute pan with the oil. This way you use the smallest amount possible. Heat the pan on medium-high heat until the oil is shimmering.
  • Add the onion slices and stir to coat the onions with the oil. Spread the onions out evenly over the pan and let cook, stirring occasionally. Let them cook until they’re how you like them. Serves one. Enjoy!

I love Caramelized Onions and I think that my recipe is even better than the one above….I don’t us oil (because Coconut oil has a distinctive “sweet” flavor to me). I use my homemade chicken bone broth! I toss my onions in a dry frying pan over medium high heat and immediately put in 1/4-ish cup of bone broth, stir constantly, and when it’s totally evaporated, it leaves a yummy residue and the onions are “wilted” just right. Then I splash a tiny bit of bone broth in the pan with the onions to “dissolve” all that yummyness and Voila! Yummy sautéed onions!
