How can I be successful in the Betr Program?
Here at Betr, we aim to be better - not perfect. We have observed some healthy habits that will support you in reaching your goals!
This article will outline some simple tips to ensure your struggle-free success in this program.
1. Log your weight, meals, water, and activity every day.
Logging is essential to our coaches being able to personalize your Betr experience. They use your food pictures, symptoms, and weight gain or loss to make suggestions and adjustments to maximize your success. The more information you provide your coach, the more they can help you reach your goals!
Many of our members find that logging is a great way to listen to their bodies and stay mindful of their food choices.
2. Join the Betr Community.
You are not alone! Be sure to accept the invitation to our private Facebook group and see posts from others all over the country participating in Betr. Our members encourage and support each other, and share inspiring pictures of progress and meals.
3. Journal each day.
Take a few minutes to tell us how your day went by filling out your journal at the end of each day. Journaling gives you a moment to reflect on your wins and challenges each day. Journaling also helps your coach support your efforts.
4. Plan your meals.
Taking a little bit of time to plan out what you are going to eat can go a long way towards your Betr success. We have a printable blank meal plan on the Resources page to help you plan your meals.
Check out our recipe library of over two hundred delicious Level 1 Recipes if you enjoy cooking.
If you’re more of a freestyle artist at the stove, get familiar with the Level 1 Food list and make sure to stock the pantry with lots of Level 1 approved ingredients.
And of course, if you prefer to leave the cooking to the professionals, the Betr Meal Delivery service has your back! We’ll deliver your choice of affordable, family-friendly, 5-star chef recipes.
5. Eat intuitively.
Betr does not utilize calorie counting or strict weighing/measuring of portions. We encourage you to listen to your body. If you are hungry, then eat. If you are satisfied, then stop.
As long as you choose foods off the Level One food list and aim for 75% fruits and vegetables and 25% protein, you can eat as much as you want! Not eating enough Betr-approved foods is more likely to interfere with weight loss or other goals than overeating!
6. Ask for help.
We want you to get the most accurate answers as quickly as possible. If you feel stuck, confused, or in need of help in any way, send a text to your coach or email us at ask@betrhealth.com. Our AI assistant can also answer many questions quickly.
Please refrain from asking protocol questions about Betr on the Community. These answers don’t come directly from the Betr Team and could be inaccurate.
7. Let it be easy.
The best results come when we aren’t too hard on ourselves and enjoy the process.
We encourage you to rest and avoid strenuous activities for the first few days. Focus on nourishing your body and use this downtime to relax, meditate, or enjoy another calming activity.
And don’t feel like you are giving up things you enjoy! Use the Betr Guide to Eating Out to stay on plan when enjoying your favorite local eatery.
Betr is not about “giving things up”- it’s about creating a new, healthy lifestyle and learning how to enjoy life the way it’s meant to be enjoyed! Betr is here to provide you with all of the resources you need to live a happy, healthy, Betr life!
