These Betr French Toast Sticks are a wholesome twist on a classic breakfast favorite. Made with Ezekiel bread and flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, these sticks are perfect for a quick, nutritious breakfast or a tasty snack.
Ingredients
- 2 slices Ezekiel bread
- 2 egg whites
- 3 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg or cloves
- 5 drops liquid stevia (optional)
- 1 tsp almond or vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat
Cut each slice of Ezekiel bread into 3-4 strips to create sticks
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg whites, unsweetened almond milk, cinnamon, ground nutmeg or cloves, liquid stevia (if using), and almond or vanilla extract until well combined
Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated
Place the coated bread sticks onto the preheated skillet or griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through
