1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease or line an 8x8-inch baking dish
In a food processor, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, cocoa powder, maple syrup or honey, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed
If desired, gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the brownies are set around the edges and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs
