Lesson 4 - Neck, Shoulders & Lunge
Today, we will focus on a series of hip openers in our Chair Yoga practice. Seated hip openers are great for improving flexibility in the lower body, promoting relaxation, and releasing tension in the lower back. These gentle movements can help improve overall mobility.
Throughout this session, we will explore different variations of seated twists, incorporating deep breathing to enhance the stretch and increase relaxation. Remember to listen to your body and only go as far as is comfortable for you. With regular practice, you will notice increased flexibility and a greater sense of ease in your body.
Key Lesson Concepts:
- Tension and stress are stored in our hips
- Releasing the hips through stretches can release this tension
- This can sometimes improve back and knee pain
- Deep breathing enhances the stretch and relaxation
In this session, we focus on the shoulders and hips through lunges and wide-legged pose. Consider having a block or thick books handy for support.
