Based on the reviews… I cooked the onions and peppers in with the meat and drained them with the fat, reduced the broth to a cup and a half and added a roasted poblano pepper with the skin peeled off just for flavor, I also added 2 tbsp of cumin and omitted the garlic powder and onion powder since there was enough fresh in the recipe. I also added a little tomato paste to help thicken a little. I like my chili a little thicker and with all the fresh veggies it would’ve been soup. This whole recipe could be made in a crock pot and simmered all day. Just a thought. The recipe is good just needed a few tweaks for my taste. Hope this review is helpful to other members.

I did 1/2 burger and 1/4 of everything else and added 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast and added a lot of flavor.

I omitted the salsa, used 2 pounds of beef and still had a very watery chili that had to reduce for quite a while, so recommend reducing the liquid. The flavor was also somewhat lacking – taco seasoning might do better. The chili powder alone is not enough to carry it as the primary spice.

The ingredient proportions are definitely off here. I made it with 1 lb meat because 2 seemed too much for 4 servings. The addition of 16 oz salsa and 2 c beef broth have made a very thin soup. Not sure what to recommend here except to add another lb of meat for a thicker product.
