Gyro Burgers

Level 1

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Ground Lamb Level 2 only
  • 1/2 Medium Onion minced
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tsp Dill
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 2 tbsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp All Spice
  • Salt and Pepper, to Taste

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.  Form into your preferred shape; burgers, meatballs, patties, etc.  
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours for the flavors to intensify. With so many spices, you really need the time to allow them all to mingle with one another.  
  • To cook, you can easily grill, broil or pan-sear for about 3-4 minutes per side.  
  • Best served with a hearty Greek-style salad composed of lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, lemon juice and dill.
